MisterB
Bio...

With his distinctinve Roy Orbison-meets-U2 vocal style and his high powered performance of original and cover songs, MisterB and his rockin’ band is an exciting and fun show.

MisterB's first CD Wade in the River got lots of airplay on internet and college radio stations.

His song, Doo Wop Boys was a hit with the worldwide doo wop community and will be appearing in the indie film Suitcase Murphy.

A second song, Lucky Stone, appears in the indie film Nostalgia (February 2010). The soundtrack for that film was released digitally on iTunes and Amazon (December 2009).

MisterB's second CD, Just Like This received 2 nominations by the LA Music Awards:

- Thank U Bo Diddley was nominated as Hot Adult Contempory Single of 2009.

- I Need Your Love was nominated as Americana Single of 2009.

What's Happening...
MisterB & the Band at the Orange County Fair
This has got to be the best show we've ever done. It's a great feeling to look out over the audience from that fantastic stage. Even the drummer had a stage on our stage. How much cooler can it get?

More News About the Nostalgia Soundtrack

The Long Beach Business Journal has released an article about the Nostalgia Soundtrack. One of the things I didn't know what that Susaye Greene, who sang on the album, also did the cover artwork. Susaye is best known as the last Supreme.

"James Bartling's indie-to-the-max film, Nostalgia is the kind of project I could only have dreamed that I'd get a chance to be involved in. I had no idea when I was approached that I'd have the opportunity to sing on the soundtrack and to paint the original film poster. As a creative artist, I jumped at the chance for that kind of once in a lifetime opportunity. This is James' personal story, has taken him 13 years to make, and so many aspects of this project are part of a unique creative process."

Nostalgia Soundtrack Released Digitally
I’m very pleased to announce that the Nostalgia Soundtrack is now available as a digital download on  iTunes and Amazon.com. I’m doubly pleased ‘cause it features my vocals and my song Lucky Stone (Window Shopping).

This beautiful soundtrack is the first time in movie history where an entire film score was recorded using only human voices. No musical instruments were used at all. The result is a soothing, moving musical experience that takes the listener to 20 lovely musical landscapes and lets us roam around in these haunting and mysterious places.

Over thirty vocalists were used in recording this soundtrack including a country-western artist, an opera singer, a gospel vocalist, a crooner, a Tanzanian singing in the click-y language Xhosa, ex-Supreme Susaye Greene, and MisterB.

James Bartling & Arlan Boll
Mix Magazine is featuring the Nostalgia Soundtrack in their January 2010 issue (along with a cool article about James Cameron's Avatar).

Arlan Boll, from AB Studios, has lovingly and painstakenly composed and assembled this unique soundtrack that compliments and enhances the vision that director James Bartling had for his film Nostalgia.

I’ve been to two screenings of Nostalgia and was deeply moved each time by this autobiographical coming-of-age story. Real people from the events of his life play themselves in the original locations. It is a one-of-a-kind film about “human connections” with a one-of-a-kind soundtrack.

iTunes and Amazon.com. both have this album. I would encourage each of you to take a listen to this lovely soundtrack. I think you’ll like what you hear enough to download the Nostalgia Soundtrack.

Meanwhile, I’ll keep you informed about what’s happening. The movie is scheduled to be released in March 2010 and the Nostalgia Soundtrack CD is scheduled to be released in February.
